Stride piano to space music, Sun Ra reveals his Birmingham, Alabama roots in this performance. Ra plays originals and the classics in a rare solo piano recording.

This program was videotaped in live performance. All camera work, mixing and colorizing were done in real time and displayed on video monitors for the audience and the musicians. The cameras were operated by Carol Goss and Zoa. The images were then mixed and processed on the David Jones Colorizer by Walter Wright. Paul Bley was the audio producer. David Baker was the audio engineer.

This performance was recorded at Axis-In-Soho, New York City, on May 20, 1977.
